Here at Soda City Dentistry, we believe everyone deserves to smile with confidence.

It doesn’t matter if it’s for a school picture, a wedding or family photo, or selfie to your significant other – we should all be proud of our set of pearly whites! After all, smiles bring out the best in every one of us!

There’s just one small problem, though…

According to Byte.com, 67% of all Americans are self-conscious about their teeth, nearly 50% don’t feel beautiful when they smile, 76% have stained teeth, and more than 80%  of us wish we had whiter teeth.

So, that begs the question – why do teeth turn yellow?

And what can we do to fix it?

Well, for starters, teeth can turn yellow for a number of reasons – including certain foods (tomato-based sauces, berries) and drinks (red wine, coffee), tobacco use, the aging process, and poor dental hygiene.

And while brushing your teeth, flossing, and rinsing your mouth with mouthwash twice daily will certainly help, it’ll only get you so far. At a certain point, you’ll need to take that whitening process one step further.

If you’re at that point and you live in Columbia, SC, then don’t panic – we’ve got the solution for you!

KöR Home: DIY Teeth Whitening for a Million-Dollar Smile

There are three ways to go about the teeth whitening process. The first – which tends to be the preferred method for most people – is the do-it-yourself option that can be completed at home, on your own time.

For that method, we recommend using the KöR Home Whitening System.

The KöR Home Whitening System includes custom-fitted trays made from impressions of your teeth, ensuring that the whitening gel makes full contact with all tooth surfaces for even and effective whitening.

Unlike many other whitening products, such as Crest 3D White Whitestrips, KöR's whitening gel is refrigerated from the time of manufacture until it reaches the dentist – which helps maintain its potency.

The system offers both day and night options:

  • The KöR-Night™ Whitening System contains 16% carbamide peroxide, and involves wearing the custom-fitted trays overnight while you sleep – typically for 6-8 hours at a time – for two weeks.
  • The KöR-Day™ system contains 9% hydrogen peroxide, and requires wearing the trays for 1-2 hours during the day for two weeks – a good choice for those who don’t sleep well with the trays.

Both options are effective, and the decision often comes down to personal preference, lifestyle, oral health, and specific whitening needs. But don’t worry – your dentist can help you navigate your options.

KöR MAX: Nighttime Treatment With In-Office Whitening

We mentioned earlier how there are three ways to go about the teeth whitening process. We already talked about the first method (the at-home option), but the second method takes it one step further.

That method, of course, is known as the KöR MAX Whitening System.

KöR MAX is a comprehensive teeth whitening system that combines at-home whitening with a single in-office whitening visit. It’s our most popular option and, in most cases, the most effective method.

Here’s a look at what to expect from the KöR MAX method:

  • Two weeks of at-home nighttime whitening with KöR-Night 16% carbamide peroxide.
  • One in-office visit utilizing KöR 34% Dual-Activated, Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide gel.
  • Periodic at-home maintenance using either the KöR-Night or KöR-Day whitening system.

By combining in-office and at-home treatments, KöR MAX offers a thorough and effective whitening process that addresses both surface stains and deeper discoloration for immediate and long-term results.

KöR ULTRA: Our Most Advanced Whitening System Yet

That brings us to the third method of whitening your teeth – known as the KöR ULTRA Whitening System. Much like the KöR MAX option, KöR ULTRA combines at-home treatment with in-office whitening visits.

The primary difference is it takes longer and adds an initial conditioning visit.

KöR ULTRA is one of the most advanced and intensive teeth whitening options offered by KöR Whitening – and is best reserved for stubborn cases of stained teeth, such as fluorosis and dark geriatric staining.

Let’s take a look at what to expect from this treatment:

  • In-office conditioning visit utilizing KöR 13% Dual-Activated, Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide gel.
  • 3-4 weeks of at-home nighttime whitening with the KöR-Night whitening system.
  • A final in-office visit utilizing KöR 34% Dual-Activated, Tri-Barrel Hydremide® Peroxide gel.
  • Periodic at-home maintenance with the KöR-Night or KöR-Day whitening system.

But wait, that’s not all the KöR ULTRA system has to offer…

  • The KöR ULTRA-T system is best reserved for cases of tetracycline staining that were once thought to be untreatable. It’s similar to KöR ULTRA, but the at-home whitening takes 6-8 weeks.

Between the KöR Home (KöR-Night and KöR-Day), KöR MAX, KöR ULTRA, and KöR ULTRA-T systems, we’re confident that we can help just about any patient find success with their teeth whitening needs.
